Courses Lead to Professional Careers
The Bachelor of Business Administration course
blends the core disciplines of management,
communication, and information systems and prepares the
student for a career in management.
The Bachelor of Computer Applications course
provides the knowledge and skills for a career in the
information and communication technology industry.
The Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory
Technology course prepares students to work in a
healthcare setting, assisting in the diagnosis of
disease and providing a basis for medical treatment.
The Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging Technology
prepares students to work in a healthcare setting
assisting in the radiological diagnosis of diseases,
using sophisticated equipment and providing supportive
procedures for medical treatment.
The Bachelor of Science in Surgical Technology
prepares students to work as a vital member of the
health team in a hospital, assisting in the operating
theatre and intensive care unit.
The Bachelor of Science in Optometry course
prepares professionals in diagnosing and treating
patients with visual problems. They also play a public
health role in screening and identification of eye
diseases in the community.
The Bachelor of Social Work course prepares
students to work in organizations that are devoted to
individual upliftment and community development. The
Master of Social Work course provides additional
opportunities for field projects and community research,
and prepares the student to take up leadership roles in
professional and social organizations.
The Master of Science in Counselling Psychology
course leads to a career in helping individuals with
psychological problems relating to lifestyle, addiction,
chronic illness and other causes.
The Master of Arts in Christian Management
prepares professionals for a career in administration in
church institutions and other social organizations. This
a self-study course conducted in association with the
Christian Institute of Management, Chennai.
The Master of Arts in Music course provides
advanced learning in musical theory and performance and
has a special emphasis on cultural musical forms
Emphasis on Skills and Experiential Learning
All courses will feature hands-on skills development
projects to acquire real-life expertise in the
discipline. Each semester will include community
experience to familiarize students with the world of
work.
The
Complementary Curriculum
To prepare students for the world of work and their role
as global citizens, a complementary curriculum is being
provided to all undergraduate students. It has six
components: English communication, computer skills,
career skills, entrepreneurship, social skills and
community skills. The social skills curriculum will
include life skills, leadership and teamwork,
psychology, stress management, problem analysis and
solving, HIV/AIDS, addiction and other areas. The
community skills curriculum will include education,
healthcare, environment, development, disaster and peace
studies.
