Department of Conflict Management & Peace Initiatives

The Mission Statement
To contribute towards peace building in the church and society through imparting basic skills on peace building, and to equip lay church leaders through Christian studies for effective ministry in the churches.

The Department of Conflict Management & Peace Initiatives (formerly Department of Peace and Christian Studies) was started in 2008. It offered Post Graduate Diploma in peace Studies (PGDPS) but the department was disbanded in 2014. After a gap of two years, the department was revived again in May 2016. At the moment, the department does not have full time students. It offers Human Values course to all students across the disciplines. It also offers a minor in Peace and Christian Studies to undergraduate students. Currently there are 12 students in the Minor course. The department has only one faculty as of now. The department is going to offer MA in Peace and Justice from the next academic year. It also conducts peace seminars both for students of the University and elsewhere.
