PhD in Theology and Christian Management

MLCU aspires to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in disciplines and fields that will promote the attainment of the vision and mission of the University. Thus, the doctoral studies program aims at equipping competent leaders in their field of specializations to be culturally and contextually relevant research.

Eligibility:

Theology- MTh or its equivalent from a recognized body/University with at least two to three years of experience.

Christian Management- Master in Christian Management

Course of Study:

The Course of the PhD programme consist of 16 to 20 credits of course work and an Independent thesis under the supervision of nationally and internationally acclaimed and experienced supervision within the duration of three to four years.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it .The application must be filled in completely and should be accompanied by a 500 words essay on "Why I want to do a PhD and how it will help my career and benefit society". The applicant will have to also submit a tentative research proposal of approximately 1500 words with five to ten academic references. The prescribed format can be downloaded along with the Application form. The filled - in application form, essay and tentative proposal along with the application fee of Rs 500/- should be submitted at the same time. The application forms will be screened. Selected candidates will be called for the entrance test and pay Rs 5000/- as entrance test fee. The last date of receipt of application forms is

Entrance Test:

An Entrance Test of 3 hours duration is conducted every year covering the following areas:

  1. Communication skills
  2. Analytical skills
  3. Research methods
  4. Community orientation

Interview: After the entrance test, shortlisted candidates will have to appear for an interview. Time: 9:30 am. Reporting Time 15 minutes before time.

The Interview components will cover:

  • Motivation
  • Career Path
  • Discussion of the tentative Research Proposal submitted with the Application form.

*Registration Fee and Ist installment of Annual Course Fee to be paid immediately after the declaration of the Entrance Test Results (# through bank transfer)
RP Evaluation Fee will be paid after approval of the Research Proposal For the 2nd year onwards.
* Annual Course Fee can be paid in two installments ( through mlcu.errandel.com) and is applicable till the candidate completes the program.
Ist installment last due is 15 September.
IInd installment last date is 15th March
** Examination fee is to be paid as per the fee structure enforced at the time of submission of thesis
Note: Late payment of fees will attract a fine of Rs.100/- per day
