Duration: 3years (6 semesters coursework with 1year internship)
Eligibility: Class XII Science or lateral entry to second year after DMLT
A BMLT will be the key member in the healthcare team who will be performing various laboratory procedures and techniques to confirm good health status of a client or come up with a diagnosis by interpreting various laboratory tests in Microbiology, Haematology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Blood Banking and Immunology. In this program, students will be equipped with knowledge in the basic medical sciences, computer skills, Research methodology, medical ethics, communication and trained to conduct a wide spectrum of medical laboratory techniques or procedures, quality and safety aspects, handle equipments and instruments and most of all evaluate and interpret results from clinical specimens referred to the laboratory. During the internship, interns will be able to handle specimen collection, analytical procedures, interpretation of results and clinical conditions of patients from various clinical specimens and also develop skills in quality control for every laboratory test or procedure performed in the laboratory.
