Bachelor of Science in Surgical and Operation Theatre Technology
Duration: 3 years (6 semesters coursework with 1 year internship)
Eligibility: Class 12 Science (or equivalent +2 examinations)
The programme provides theoretical and practical skills to a BSOTT who will be an integral part of the hospital team and work side by side in conjunction with the surgeons, anaesthesiologists and nurse with quality patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures in a variety of settings. They will be trained in also setting up the operating room with sterilized surgical instruments, equipments and other sterile supplies required a for a surgery. The internship will enhance interns to perform scrubbing, prepare patients for surgery, perform anatomical land-markings for surgery, assist surgeons and circulate instruments, handle sterilization techniques and perform minor surgical procedures and carry out a project work alongside the internship.
