Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT)

Duration: 2 years (four semesters) + 6 months internship
Eligibility: Class X or Class XII Arts/Commerce

DMLT is a paramedical course which deals with various laboratory investigations. The subjects in the first semester are mainly basic sciences, and from the second to the fourth semester, pre-clinical and para-clinical subjects are taught. The programme covers basic knowledge and skills in biochemistry, microbiology, blood banking, and pathology. Some of the tests that the technologists are trained to perform are blood typing, micro-organism screening, bio-chemical analysis, cell counts, besides others.

Course delivery
Theory: lectures, demonstrations, seminars, computer aided learning, and assignments
Practical: lab work, hands-on clinical experience in hospitals, rural healthcare, and internship
