MLCU faculty win SCHOLL Awards

SHILLONG: The North East Development Foundation presented the SCHOLL Research Challenge Awards 2010 for young investigators in six thematic areas: economic growth and management, human resource development and education, technology for development, good governance, sustainable development and preserving the ecosystem and livelihood and enterprise development.

Jennifer War, lecturer in Allied Health was the winner in the category of Human Resource Development & Education Growth for her paper entitled, "' Need for and Provision of Life Skills and Sexual Health Education among Students Studying in Institutions of Higher Education in Shillong" and Melari Nongrum, lecturer in Social Work won the top award in the category of Good Governance practice for her paper entitled "Re-examining the Primary Health Care System in Meghalaya".

The awards, comprising Rs 25,000, a medal and citation, were presented on Friday in Guwahati.
