Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Nutrition

Duration: 1 year (two semesters)
Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in life sciences/Psychology/Nutrition/allied subjects or Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy (BPT)

Sports nutrition plays a vital role in promoting athletic success by helping athletes optimally fuel themselves to maximise training and conditioning.  Sports nutrition, as a discipline, has also played a key factor in influencing product development and promoting the growth of the sports nutrition market. It is recognised by leading nutritionists, coaches, and sports people as an important part of any training programme.

This course is designed to provide the students with an optimal mix of knowledge of sports testing, nutrition and catering required for:

  • planning diets for sportsmen corresponding to the varying levels of physical activity
  • suggesting specific exercise programmes for specific needs
  • improving the general fitness levels of people

Course delivery

Theory: interactive sessions, lectures, assignments, seminar, and computer-aided learning

Practical: lab work, training, and internship in gyms and sports club
