MLCU reopened on Mar 22, 2021, exactly one year after closing because of the Covid pandemic. Students returned in batches during the week of Mar 22-26. A welcome pandal was erected in the parking lot. Students were welcomed with music, gifts and snacks, not to mention loud and cheerful hellos! The joy of being back created a carnival atmosphere, with special words for the new students who have come to the campus for the first time, many with parents and family members.

Registration desks for all the departments were set up to provide information about classes and schedules. Students were screened for temperature check and other Covid protocols were followed.

The following materials were distributed to the students during the registration:
1. 3 Ply Face Mask with MLCU logo, also given to the teaching and non-teaching staff of MLCU
2. Personalized MLCU pen
3. Welcoming note from the university counselor
4. Juice and biscuits
5. MLCU Sweat shirts for the freshers
6. Teilang, anovel about Shillong

The Office of the Dean of Students will put in place a Campus Health Plan which has been approved by the University.

All the best to everyone!
