Mission Statement
To equip the learners with the required knowledge and skills to become peacebuilders thereby making them practitioners and ambassadors of a culture of peace, non-violence, justice, advocacy, and harmony in the communities of Northeast India and beyond.”

The Department of Conflict Management and Peace Initiatives was started in 2008 with a PG Diploma in Peace Studies offered between 2008 and 2014.  The Department was restarted in 2016 and it offered Human Values and Work Ethics across the Departments of the University. In 2017, the Department started a minor in Peace and Conflict Studies for the Bachelor’s degree students. In July 2018, the department launched the MA in Peace and Justice. The Department has three regular faculty members and an adjunct faculty member.
