The Department of Tourism & Travel Management (DTTM)

“The Department of Tourism & Travel Management (DTTM) is organizing a two-day workshop titled “Hospitality Management in Tourism” to be held on April 10th – 11th, 2024 at the Conference Hall, MLCU Umsawli Campus. The main goal of the workshop is to equip the DTTM students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the tourism and hospitality industry.

 

Prominent experts such as Dr T.K Bamon, Honourable Vice Chancellor of Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU), Mr Praveen Sharda, General Manager of Taj Vivanta – a 5-star hotel in Shillong, Mr Phrangkupar Kharbamon, Regional Director of Infovalley Educational and Research Pvt. Ltd, Ms Martha Golmei, Trainer at Jettwings Institute, Shillong, and Ms Emelyne Umwi, Guest Service Associate at Taj Vivanta, Shillong, will be the resource persons for the workshop.

 

The workshop will cover a diverse array of contemporary topics, focusing on enhancing communication skills in hospitality, exploring trends and prospects in the hospitality industry, insights from experienced hotel staff on overcoming challenges, etiquette for hospitality professionals, and professional grooming standards for hospitality personnel.”
