MASTER OF ARTS IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LINGUISTICS

About the Programme:

The MA English language and Linguistics programme promotes the learning and comprehension of  theories and practices of language pedagogy, the nature of second language learning and acquisition, English phonetics, curriculum development, language testing, language as a medium of communication in society and in education and linguistic diversity.It also promotes the scientific study of languages as knowledge of Linguistics is relevant in a multilingual and multicultural context to create awareness of the diverse linguistic wealth and knowledge of language as it interacts with society, culture, human behavior, literature and technology. Teaching practice is supported with practical online courses from Coursera and students will learn practical hands-on experiences through internships and  chosen career streams on research, teaching and learning, community engagement.

Duration: 2 years (four semesters)

Eligibility: Any Bachelor’s degree
