Health Screening Program

Martin Luther Christian University has always had an objective of producing students with well rounded personalities. This involves developing them not only intellectually but physically as well. In this regard, a student’s physical well being is given as much importance as is his or her academics. In keeping with this objective, the Department of Allied Health Sciences of the University conducts a Health Screening Program every year for the students of every new batch. This year, the screening program was held on the 28th of February 2019.

In this screening program, the basic health data of every student like his or her BMI, blood pressure, respiration rate and pulse rate is collected. The eyesight of the students is also evaluated by experts from Bansara Eye Care. Besides these, the students are also given advice on their food habits and are encouraged to integrate a balanced diet in their routine. A doctor is also made available throughout the day for students who need a medical consultation.

The Department takes special care and effort that each and every student is covered in this screening program. If a student is found to be absent on the day the screening is held, he or she will be made to visit the Department when he or she joins classes. The data collected is then sent to the respective departments so they get a picture of the health status of their students. If ever during these screenings, a student is found to have a serious ailment, he or she is sent to the doctor who then refers the student to appropriate channels. The Department also takes the contact details of all the students to enable it to do a proper up follow after the screening process.
