The Department of Music, Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU), Shillong, successfully conducted a series of music classes at Mawlong Secondary School from 3rd October to 31st October 2025. These classes were held every Friday as part of MLCU’s initiative to promote music education and creative expression among school students.
Throughout the month-long program, students were introduced to various instruments and musical forms, including piano, guitar, ukulele, Ksing and singing. The sessions offered students a hands-on experience in both contemporary and indigenous music, encouraging them to appreciate the diversity and beauty of musical traditions.
On behalf of the Music Department, MLCU extends heartfelt gratitude to Mawlong Presbyterian Secondary School principal, staff and students for their warm hospitality, support, and cooperation in making this initiative a success. Their encouragement and openness to incorporating music into the school’s activities provided an enriching platform for students to discover and nurture their musical talents.
