MLCU University Research Programme

With the aim to inculcate research skills, the Department of Doctoral Studies & Research, Martin Luther Christian University as part of its annual event organised a two-day event on different research-based activities on the August 24 – 25, 2023. Students from various departments of the university participated in these activities which included quiz competition, literature hunt, data interpretation, out of the box and research poster competition presentation.

 The programme culminated on the August 25, 2023, with Dr Eros V Kharshiing,  Associate Professor, St Edmunds College and member of the Doctoral Committee MLCU, Shillong as Chief Guest at the valedictory function where he highlighted the importance of research being deeply rooted in the concerns of the local community. He emphasized that such a focus allows research to address challenges effectively by offering nuanced understanding, localised insights, and innovative approaches.  He further stressed on how innovation in research has the potential to revolutionize various aspects of life, fostering new ways of living, working, and interacting.

The chief guest emphasized that researchers bear a substantial responsibility. Research has the power to influence policies, guide decisions, and shape lives.

His words of wisdom have set the tone for the event and he provided a valuable insight to the students who took part in the event.

Prizes were also awarded to the winners of the various activities held during the two-day event. The event was attended by the Chancellor, Dean’s and faculty and students.
