We are pleased to share that three of our students — Laiabiang Sohtun and Sunari Mynsong from the School of Social Work, and Sngewbhalang Nongkhar from the School of Economics, Commerce, and Management — have been awarded as Best Active Participants in the Aapda Mitra Training on Natural Disaster Management.
The week-long training was held from 23rd to 30th June 2025 at the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides, Shillong, and was organized by the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) in collaboration with the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), East Khasi Hills.
The program saw participation from nearly 100 volunteers representing NSS, NCC, and Rangers and Rovers units from colleges across the Shillong region. The training focused on equipping youth with the knowledge and skills needed for disaster preparedness and response.
This recognition is a testament to the commitment, discipline, and leadership shown by our students in contributing to community-based disaster risk reduction efforts.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Laiabiang, Sunari, and Sngewbhalang for their dedication and exemplary performance.
