The Aurora, our university week, which runs from November 5–12, 2022, was successfully organised by the Student Council with assistance from the Office of the Dean of Students. On November 4, 2022, at Lachumiere in Shillong, the Aurora 2022 began with an act of gratitude that featured poetry readings and remarks thanking all of the Shillong Press Club’s members for their service.
The marathon on November 5, 2022 in the morning served as the official start to the Aurora games, sports and activities, which were then followed by indoor and outdoor events all week long. Students, faculty members from various departments and schools, and non-teaching staff all attended and enthusiastically engaged in the games, sports and activities.
The Grand Finale of Aurora was held on November 12, 2022 at Nongrah campus with a turnout of not less than 1500 students. The Guest Speaker was Mr Mark Laitflang Stone, Entrepreneur, Impact Coach, Motivational Speaker and Founder, AVENUES Shillong. The Guest Speaker reminded the students about the importance of unity, hard work and gratitude.
The Mr and Miss MLCU, winners of the singing and dancing competitions, special performance by the office of the dean of students were also featured during the grand finale followed by the distribution of prizes and the Champion of Aurora 2022 was awarded to the School of Economics, Commerce and Management. The grand finale was concluded with a lively jam session.
