Ha Jylli Ki Khriang 2023 organised by the Department of Music

2nd June, 2023

Shillong reverberated with rhythms and beats of melodious sounds when the students of the Department of Music, Martin Luther Christian University took to the stage on the evening of June 2, 2023 and performed in the musical performance titled, “Ha Jylli ki Khriang”, at the U Soso Tham Auditorium Hall.

The literal translation of the title of the Concert is “The Circle of Rhythms”, and it has been named so because this particular performance is a melting pot of the different genres.

The main objective of this performance is to provide a platform for the students to showcase their skills and technicalities they have learnt throughout the semester.

“This musical performance is a part of the curriculum which gives the students the confidence, to display and showcase their creativity and originality in music. This platform can also help our students to be seen by potential employers, like music studios, event managers, etc.”, informed the HoD of the Department, Dr. Mebanlamphang Lyngdoh.

Most of the performances on this day were original music written and composed by the students themselves in different genres ranging from traditional to rock to love ballads and so on.
