Mr Theophil Basumatary, NSS volunteer and student of the Department of Economics, Commerce and Management of Martin Luther Christian University was selected to participate in the Republic Day Parade which was held in New Delhi in January 2021. Basumatary is the sole representative of Meghalaya in the parade.

 

Basumatary was awarded this opportunity after undergoing a rigorous selection process at the Pre Republic Day Selection Camp held in Bhubaneshwar. He left for Delhi on 31st December where training will commence for the Republic Day parade.
